Help Preserve Cape Coral Area
Memories &  Folklore

WHAT IS FOLKLORE?

Folklore refers to traditional stories, beliefs, customs, art, songs, habits
and practices of a community. Usually verbally shared or by images, photos, drawings, stories, tales, poems. These could date back as far as early settlers but also include stories of fairly recent events that people want to preserve. And everything in between. Folklore at it's best has a foundation in history.

It can also be based on someone's interpretation of facts or their memories.
Example: Your stories about your Hurricane Ian experiences or your
memories of Cape Coral when our first bridge was built. It can be
about people, events, things and places past and present.
